Clinton Township issued the following announcement on Mar. 2.
Township Supervisor Robert Cannon and the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce extend an invitation to area residents to attend the 2022 State of the Township Address at the Clinton-Macomb Public Library, located at 40900 Romeo Plank Road on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.
Initially scheduled for January 28, the annual address was postponed due to concerns with spreading the coronavirus.
“Safety measurements at public gatherings are relaxed to the point where we’re confident we can hold this event in person now with no worries about spreading COVID,” said Cannon. “As I’ve said before, I always prefer to speak to people in person, so I’m happy we’re back at the Clinton-Macomb library with the Macomb County Chamber hosting like they always have,” he said.
Cannon went on to say he is proud of the Township staff for their work after the pandemic began in preparing the Civic Center to receive visitors wishing to do business in person.
“Going the extra mile is our theme for this year’s address because Clinton Township residents need to know that our staff went above and beyond to establish a clean and safe environment and continue to do so as COVID remains an issue,” he said.
Registration and breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by the program at 8 a.m. Admission is $25, and tickets are available through the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce website at macombcountychamber.com or by calling 586-493-7600.
Clinton Township Media Services will stream the address live on clintontownship.com. The link to access the livestream will be available through the Latest News feature on the website’s homepage.
In the afternoon on March 16 and for several weeks after, Clinton Township Television (CTTV) will rebroadcast the address in its entirety on Comcast channel 5, WOW channel 10, and AT&T channel 99. Also, viewers can watch the State of the Township Address on CTTV’s YouTube channel at YouTube.com/CTTV.
