Rep. John James, who has represented Michigan's 10th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, shared a series of posts on social media addressing border security, job protection, and manufacturing concerns.

On August 11, 2025, James recounted his experience at a northern border security roundtable in Detroit with South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and Patty Morin. He stated: "I had the honor of meeting and speaking with @PattyMorin at a northern border security roundtable in Detroit with @Sec_Noem. Patty’s strength is inspiring, but she should never have had to endure this tragedy. Rachel’s life mattered. America’s borders matter. Our laws matter."

The following day, August 12, James commented on federal legislation impacting Michigan jobs: "This is the United States of America — not the United States of California. Earlier this year, @POTUS signed my bill into law stopping California’s radical EV mandate from killing thousands of Michigan jobs. MI is not afraid of the future, but we demand to be a part of it."

Later that same day, he reflected on Michigan's manufacturing sector and recent political changes: "Since NAFTA, Michigan has lost 300,000+ manufacturing jobs. We watched as our livelihoods and opportunities were shipped out-of-state and out-of-country. Thankfully, with President @realdonaldtrump and @VP, those days are over. For the first time in decades, we have a President"

John James was born in Detroit in 1981 and currently resides in Farmington Hills.
