On February 3, 2025, Rep. John James expressed enthusiasm about a meeting with Torch Tech in Sterling Heights. He highlighted the company's contributions to defense engineering services and their role in supporting military personnel. In his words: "Had a great meeting with the folks from Torch Tech, located in Sterling Heights! Torch delivers critical engineering services & solutions, directly supporting our men & women in uniform."

The following day, February 4, he acknowledged leaders from Southeast Michigan's veteran community for participating in a mission briefing aimed at supporting returning veterans. On World Cancer Day, he announced an initiative as co-chair of the Congressional Cancer Prevention Caucus to designate February 4 as "National Cancer Prevention Day." He stated: "In the Army, I learned that preparedness matters. Fighting cancer is no different."
