Today, Representative John James of Michigan's 10th district was sworn into the 119th Congress by Speaker Mike Johnson. This event marks the end of the 118th Congress and the start of a new legislative session.

Following his swearing-in, Representative James expressed enthusiasm for his upcoming responsibilities. "I am beyond excited to get to work on behalf of the Michigan people—they elected us to bring down gas and grocery costs, secure our borders, end disastrous EV mandates, and restore American leadership on the global stage," he stated. He emphasized collaboration with key leaders: "With President Donald Trump, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune leading the charge, we are in a prime spot to get to work on the issues that impact everyday Michiganders and Americans."

James also reflected on his achievements during his first term in office. He noted progress made during the previous Congress: "I look forward to continuing to build on the work we got done in the 118th Congress—including passing 8 bills through the House as a freshman."
