Today, Representative John James from Michigan's 10th district issued a statement following Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s address to Congress. President Herzog spoke to commemorate Israel’s 75th anniversary, sharing the challenges faced by Israel over the years and its continued efforts against terrorism.
Representative James expressed support for Israel, stating, “The United States will always support Israel and its mission, and I thank President Herzog for reaffirming Israel's commitment to our alliance. There is no room for antisemitism in America or across the world. Anyone who opposes the existence of Israel deserves no place in our politics.”
During his first six months in office, Rep. James has taken several actions concerning Israel. He has cosponsored H.Con.Res.57, which shows congressional support for the State of Israel, and H.R. 3792, known as the U.S.-Israel Partnership and Abraham Accords Enhancement Act. Additionally, he introduced H.R. 3095 titled the Address Iran’s Malign Posture Act aimed at imposing sanctions on foreign entities engaging with Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Furthermore, Rep. James led a bipartisan delegation of Congress members in urging Secretary of State Antony Blinken to integrate normalization with Israel into U.S.-Africa strategy.
