Representative John James (MI-10) is urging President Joe Biden to sign his Congressional Review Act resolution, which challenges the National Labor Relations Board’s (NLRB) new joint employer rule. The resolution recently passed in the United States Senate. The rule imposes liability on companies for another business’ employees, even if they do not directly oversee them.
James expressed his views following the Senate's decision:
“I am excited that the Senate passed my joint employer rule resolution. We are one step closer to signing this resolution into law and putting an end to this administration’s anti-small business joint employer rule, which has put added strain on franchises and small businesses in my state and across the country,” said James. “My father started our family business with one truck, one trailer, and no excuses—and bucked the system by beating the regulations and working hard. He was able to attain the American Dream. But others with that same goal will not be able to achieve the American Dream as a result of Joe Biden’s joint employer rule. Joe Biden must sign my resolution into law and reverse his disastrous anti-small business policies.”
