At an event hosted by Stahl’s Automotive Museum in Chesterfield on Thursday, January 5, 2023, our Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police Brian D. Bassett was sworn in as President of the Southeastern Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police (SEMACP). He was sworn in by Michigan Supreme Court Justice David Viviano for a one-year term where he will serve as President during 2023.
SEMACP’s goals are to enhance improvement of law enforcement, encourage professional recruitment and training of qualified law personnel, promote high professional law enforcement standards of conduct, to stimulate citizen interest in law enforcement, and aid in the adoption of good police practices and the general welfare and safety of the public.
Director Bassett is “very humbled and honored to be named President of this wonderful organization and is looking forward to serving his term to the best of his ability.”
