The Warren Public Library is pleased to offer Prime Time Family Reading Time, a free six-week program of reading, group discussion, and storytelling for families with children ages 6-10. At each session families will enjoy a dinner together, followed by a reading of children’s stories. A group discussion will take place about topics from the stories to promote critical thinking skills. Younger children will be supervised at no charge during the program and take part in their own activities. At the end of each session, each family will receive a copy of one of the books read, as well as a chance to win door prizes. Every family that attends all six sessions in their entirety will receive a $100 gift card. Weekly prizes will include $50 gift cards.
To register for the six-week series call 586-353-0580. This program is for children ages 6 to 10 accompanied by their families and will be held at Wiegand Park at 8700 Toepfer Road (between 8 and 9 Mile Roads and between Van Dyke and Hoover). Transportation can be provided if needed. Due to limited resources, we will accept newcomers first, and those who have participated in the past will be added to the waitlist.
Prime Time Family Reading Time in Warren is offered by the Michigan Humanities in cooperation with the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, and with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the American Library Association, and additional corporate and private sponsors.
