Three Actions in Support of Ukraine:
Flag Raising at Noon Wednesday!
1. I will be raising the flag of Ukraine in support of standing up for the brave men and women of Ukraine in their conflict against Russia at noon on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. Warren is the largest city in the state of Michigan to raise the flag. Everyone is welcome!
2. I will support a change in U.S. refugee law to allow the many displaced Ukrainians to come to the U.S. I will be requesting that President Biden make this formal change immediately. Eastern European countries are being overwhelmed with millions of refugees and they need another safe place. At the minimum, any Ukraine refugee who has a relative in the U.S. should be granted refugee status now. We welcome Ukraine refugees to Warren!
3. I have issued an order to our two pensions systems City and Police & Fire to divest themselves of any Russian investment. We don’t need Russian blood money.
