Chesterfield Township - MI issued the following announcement on Jan. 12.
At the January 11, 2022 Board Meeting, the Chesterfield Township Board of Trustees approved the employment of our new Director of Public Safety, Brian Bassett.
Director Bassett has over 22 years of law enforcement experience, with 12 of those being executive level. Most recently he served the City of Sylvan Lake as Chief of Police. Director Bassett brings a wealth of knowledge and holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
Chesterfield Township received numerous personal letters of recommendation from references and non-references from the Federal and State levels, and colleagues that sought out to support Mr. Bassett’s candidacy. We are confident he will continue to ensure the safety of our people, assets, and community to the very best of his ability.
