City of Warren to Light Up in Teal Tonight to Recognize National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month

Health

City of Warren issued the following announcement on Nov. 4.

In recognition of National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month (NADAM) and National Caregivers Month, the City of Warren will light its City Hall in teal at dusk, Thursday, November 4 until dawn tomorrow, Friday, November 5.

This was part of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s (AFA) annual Light the World in Teal initiative for Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. The City of Warren is proud to raise awareness of this disease that affects more than 5.8 million Americans and over 50 million people worldwide. People in and around Warren are encouraged to snap photos and post them to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using the hashtag #AFALightTheWorldInTeal.

We understand that, unfortunately, dementia was a growing epidemic in our city, state, and nation. By lighting up our City Hall in teal, we want to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s and dementia as well as let area residents know that we are thinking about them, support them and stand by them in their fight against this terrible disease.
