WARREN CONSOLIDATED SCHOOLS: Mental Health Support

Mentalhealth 1000

Warren Consolidated Schools issued the following announcement on May 9.

Dear WCS Community,

In the past few weeks, several WCS families and staff members have lost loved ones to the coronavirus, putting in perspective, for all of us, the seriousness of this pandemic. To provide an additional level of support for our students and families, we have added a new link for mental health support to our coronavirus information page at wcskids.net, which I hope you will find helpful.

Please look for the hands with hearts link, which will take you to a directory of support by school.

Also, since school closed in March, WCS has strictly followed Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Executive Orders for staying-in-place, keeping our schools closed, providing learning at home, continuing to provide food for our community, and ONLY conducting essential activities in the district.

To provide some clarification, Governor Whitmer released yesterday a six-phase plan to re-open Michigan that provides our district some important guidance on what we can do in the future based on the spread of the virus. This plan will help us make decisions for things like senior activities, summer camps and programs, and even school this September. The plan is available on our coronavirus information page at wcskids.net.

As we look ahead, there are many questions that remain, and we will continue to do our best to re-open the district in accordance with the Governor’s plan.

Please continue to stay safe and be healthy!

Sincerely,

Robert D. Livernois, Ph.D.

Superintendent
