Warren Consolidated Schools issued the following announcement on May 1.
May 1st is School Lunch Hero Day! WCS would like to salute all of our nutrition services professionals for their hard work and dedication to our students and the community.
Our nutrition staff strive to make lunchtime a favorite part of every student’s day. From their friendly greetings in the cafeteria and the love they dish out with every student’s meal, to how they encourage kids to eat more fruits and vegetables, our school nutrition professionals are truly heroes.
Between preparing healthy meals, adhering to strict nutrition standards, navigating student food allergies, and offering service with a smile, WCS nutrition professionals have a lot on their plate.
Recently, our nutrition services staff has been working hard preparing more than 50,000 meals a week for distribution to our community during the coronavirus pandemic.
