CITY OF WARREN: Mayor Fouts Update

Update

City of Warren issued the following announcement on March 25.

From Mayor Fouts:

***Update (3/25/2020): There are now enough volunteers to take care of the Food Bank assistance so there is no longer a need for the Michigan National Guard. Thus, the Michigan National Guard will not be needed in Warren. Thanks for the genuine concern that the Governor has given in making sure those in need get the food they need! At this time the need for the Michigan National Guard has been postponed, according to the Governor's office, until there is a need for food assistance.***

Good news for Warren residents! Governor Whitmer has issued an order that the Michigan National Guard assist Warren and two other cities on Wednesday. Details will be forthcoming but it is to assist people with basic needs due to the coronavirus. I just finished a conference call with two other local leaders and the commander of the Michigan National Guard, about the fact that Warren and two communities were chosen for this assistance. Indeed this is at least a little bit of good news for all of the communities chosen! More details to come!
