CLINTON-MACOMB PUBLIC LIBRARY: World War II POW Camps in Michigan

Clinton-Macomb Public Library recently issued the following announcement.

Date and Time: Thursday, September 05; 6:30pm - 8:00pm

Location: Main Library; Auditorium

Details:

Did you know that Michigan housed over 6,000 German and Italian POWs during World War II?

Join U of D professor Greg Sumner as he relates their stories as they worked all over the state harvesting crops, cutting timber and maintaining parks.  During the labor shortage created by the war, these POWs provided much needed assistance to our local industries.
