Rep. John James, U.S. Congressman representing Michigan's 10th District since 2023, reflected on his experiences during and after the September 11 attacks in a series of posts on social media.

On September 11, 2025, James posted: "Today we remember those who ran toward danger. Never Forget. https://t.co/md2VoNwjP2".

Later that day, he wrote about his time at West Point and military service: "Our West Point class was the first to know that we were going to war after graduation day. I served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and if given the chance, I’d do it all over again. This country is worth fighting and sacrificing for and I am deeply proud to support this resolution https://t.co/qOLgXNgdx2" (September 11, 2025).

On September 12, James continued sharing personal reflections from his military background: "I was a cadet at West Point on 9/11. That day, everything changed. At that moment, we understood why we were there: to lead men & women into battle, and back out. https://t.co/c4T9SmCsdS".

John James was born in Detroit in 1981 and currently resides in Farmington Hills. His public statements come as part of ongoing national remembrances of the events of September 11 and their impact on individuals serving in the armed forces.
