Representative John James of Michigan's 10th district has been appointed to three subcommittees within the House Energy and Commerce Committee for the 119th Congress. The subcommittees are Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade; Energy; and Health.
James, who was the first freshman selected to the committee since 2011, brings his experience from the auto-supply chain industry to his role. He is committed to addressing issues such as electric vehicle mandates, energy independence, reshoring manufacturing jobs, and reducing healthcare costs.
In a statement about his new assignments, Rep. James expressed enthusiasm for continuing his service in Southeast Michigan through these subcommittees. "I am beyond thrilled to continue serving Southeast Michigan on three subcommittees this Congress including the subcommittees on Energy, Health, and Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade," he said. He also highlighted his eagerness to collaborate with the incoming Trump Administration on legislation aimed at lowering energy prices and increasing transparency in healthcare.
Rep. James reiterated his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises made in November: "help bring our jobs back from Mexico and China, restore American energy dominance, and fight the nameless, faceless ghouls in big government, big tech and big ‘health’ that are bankrupting, hurting and killing Americans by the millions."
