Enrollment at Center Line Public Schools increased by 3.8% compared to previous school year

There were 2,584 students enrolled in Center Line Public Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.8% more than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.1% of them were boys, and 47.9% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 38.2% of the Center Line Public Schools total enrollment.

Center Line Public Schools covers six schools within Macomb County with its main office in Center Line. Among them, Center Line High School recorded the highest enrollment of 663 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
