Rep. John James (MI-10) has called for the salary of U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm to be reduced to $1. In a speech on the House Floor, James exposed Granholm's failures both as Energy Secretary and as the former Governor of Michigan. He pointed to Michigan's difficult period under Granholm's leadership, known as the "Lost Decade," when the state faced economic turmoil, job losses, home foreclosures, and business closures.

James criticized Granholm for leaving Michigan after her term as Governor and teaching at Berkeley in California. He argued that her neglect of the state's economy and the hardships faced by Michiganders have defined her tenure at the Department of Energy. James accused Granholm of selling off strategic petroleum reserves and jeopardizing national security.

Speaking about the impact of Granholm's failures, James highlighted how her support for forced electric vehicle mandates is burdening middle-class families in Michigan and across the country. He emphasized the need for Granholm to be held accountable for her actions and stated, "She failed in Michigan, and we can't let her fail in America."

The call to cut Granholm's salary to $1 reflects James' dissatisfaction with her performance and his belief that she should face consequences for her actions. The speech delivered by James on the House Floor can be watched in its entirety online.

This latest move by Rep. John James serves as a reminder of the ongoing scrutiny faced by government officials and the demand for accountability in public service.
