Rep. John James (MI-10) has released a statement in regards to the ongoing vote for Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. In his statement, Rep. James emphasizes that his vote is not based on personal or party affiliations, but rather on the well-being of his state and the strength of the nation.

According to Rep. James, his vote is a commitment to protect legislation that he has already passed through the House, which directly benefits Michigan's economy and national security. He highlights the issue of jobs being sent overseas and defense jobs being redirected to other states, leaving Michigan at a disadvantage.

"Michigan has lost multiple bases and missions over the past few decades. Selfridge and the Arsenal of Democracy are my Alamo. We are not giving any more and we are not giving in," says Rep. James.

Rep. James also highlights the importance of securing federal funds for Michigan's infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and underground systems. He warns that these funds are now at risk and emphasizes the need for consequences for congressional leadership's failure to keep their promises.

"There must be consequences for congressional leadership's refusal to keep its promises - legislation that, again, I have already gotten passed through the House - especially given comments and votes on the record which demonstrate their willingness to slash our defense spending to the bone and turn their back on Michigan's economy," states Rep. James.

In conclusion, Rep. John James is committed to fighting for Michigan and ensuring that the state receives the support it deserves from the federal government. He promises to fight for Michigan's economy and national security with all his heart.
