Community Letter 10252022

The district received a non-specific OK2SAY tip about a Sterling Heights High School student who planned to bring a gun to school.

The tip turned out to be false, but the Sterling Heights Police Department found the student owned several air soft weapons and was posting things on Snap Chat.

The student also was seen in a nearby park over the weekend with one of them, which likely prompted the call to OK2SAY. Although there was no threat to the school, this again demonstrates the power of students sharing difficult information with adults or OK2SAY, and parents please continue to encourage your children to do so. Finally, parents please remind your children that their words and actions have consequences, especially if they are making poor decisions.

I appreciate your continued support, and if you have any questions, please contact the school.
