Community Letter 08-25-2022

At our new teacher orientation, I had the opportunity to meet with an enthusiastic group of new educators, including several who were recent WCS graduates who have chosen to return to their roots.

This reminded me of how well we prepare our students for life after high school, which is an important part of our mission. A key part of our graduates' success comes from the very high expectations of our WCS Board of Education.

Their continued leadership and support of our school community are reflected in all that we offer our students, including safe and secure schools, state of the art technology, a rigorous Pre-K-12+ curriculum, and a full range of extra-curricular ac tivities. School starts next Tuesday, August 30th with a half-day in the morning for all students. As you help your children get ready for school, I encourage you to talk with them about what you expect of them this yea r. We have known for many years that students make progress and do well in school when we, as the adults in their lives, expect it from them. Please contact your child's school if you have any questions, and visit wcskids.net for district information. I appreciate your continued support and look forward to another great year!
