Warren Consolidated Schools issued the following announcement on Dec. 7.
Grissom Middle School, a handwritten threat that read "I want to shoot the principal" was found in the girls' restroom.
The WCS Security & Crisis Management Team, in collaboration with the Grissom Administration, investigated it and a suspect already has been identified and removed from school. This again is a student making a very bad choice, and we do not believe the threat is credible. School will be open as scheduled.
As an added assurance, we will remain in close contact with the Sterling Heights Police Department as they have provided us with excellent service with their very quick response. Unfortunately, this letter provides me another opportunity to remind you to talk with your children about making good choices.
I am very pleased that students did the right thing and reported this to an adult, instead of spreading it on social media. As always, I will update you as necessary, and please contact your child's school if you any questions.
-Superintendent.
