EASTPOINTE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS: August 28 Virtual Return to School Update

School10

Easpointe Community Schools issued the following announcement on Aug. 28.

We are so excited to offer a K-12 Virtual option for families at this uncertain time.

We are asking all families who have already selected virtual to complete the linked survey to help us determine which devices need to be distributed.

We need this survey to be filled out for EACH child in your home who will be participating in virtual learning. Because of international supply issues related to COVID-19, some of our previously ordered devices have not yet arrived, and this information will help us make sure every child who needs a device is able to access one.

K-2 students will need an iPad. Students in grades 3-12 will be able to use a variety of devices that some families may already have, such as a desktop/laptop computer, Chromebook, iPad, or other tablet.

If your child has previously been issued a district device that has not been returned, you will not receive another device.

Specific details about device distribution, including dates and times, will be coming next week. Devices will be issued in a drive-up system at assigned times from the Eastpointe Alternative Center building at 15320 Nine Mile Road. A parent MUST be present to sign for any devices and must bring a state-issued photo ID.

If you have changed your mind and would like to switch your child to face-to-face, please contact your child’s school during regular business hours. We greatly appreciate your patience as we continue to finalize the details of this new program and look forward to talking with you more soon.
