The Macomb Chamber of Commerce is working on compiling a list of member businesses with gift card programs to help them and residents get through the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Macomb Daily, the goal of its Gift Card Sale Extravaganza is to have the member businesses’ gift cards available within a singular location to make it significantly easier for residents to purchase them. It is still looking to add businesses to the list.
As of the moment, there are 12 businesses on the list and they range from a variety of services such as restaurants, spa needs and sports. The current list can be found at mccbiz.macombcountychamber.com.
The chamber is also looking to keeping the list at one location to assist not just businesses, but also make it easier on people looking to purchase gift cards for friends, family and various other needs as well. Kelley Lovati, chief executive officer of the Macomb County Chamber, addressed the aim of the Macomb County Chamber’s gift card program.
"The Macomb County Chamber is always striving to support our businesses and during these challenging times most businesses are struggling," Lovati told Macomb Daily. "The Gift Card Extravaganza is an opportunity to stimulate cash flow to our businesses by the community purchasing gift certificates to use now during the limited services offered or for a future use when businesses are fully open to the public. The Gift Card Extravaganza can be used for personal use or for gift purchases during a time with limited access to retail and our family and friends."
The chamber will make sure that member businesses are notified of the purchases and will ensure that steps are taken to get gift cards to purchasers within a timely manner.
Any business that would like to become Macomb County Chamber members and added to the gift card list can send a request via email to maryann@macombcountychamber.com.
