One child testing positive for COVID-19 led to the closing of Childtime, a day care center in Chesterfield Township, which is in Macomb County.
A spokesperson told Click on Detroit, “Nothing’s more important to us than the health and safety of our children, employees and school families.”
After learning of the diagnosis, the center worked closely with health professionals to stop the virus from spreading, if possible. Cleaning professionals also headed to the facility to sanitize the building.
At the time, the center was closing for 14 days, but there’s no word on whether the closure was extended.
A press release on the matter reads, according to Click on Detroit, “We are advising all members of our school community to avoid public places to minimize contact with others and to reach out to their health care provider for additional instruction.”
As of April 13, Macomb County has 3,418 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 240 deaths, according to Michigan.gov.
