On May 18, 2026, Rep. James commented on election security measures: “I cosponsored the SAVE America Act. Requiring ID to vote is a no-brainer.”

John James was born in Detroit in 1981 and currently resides in Farmington Hills. He has served as a representative for Michigan’s 10th District since 2023.
